A political group, Ajosepo fún Itesiwaju Oke-Ogun, has announced the purchase of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, signaling his entry into the race for the party’s governorship ticket in Oyo State.
In a statement, the group described the move as a significant milestone in Gbadegesin’s aspiration to emerge as the APC candidate in the forthcoming primaries.
It added that the acquisition of the forms reflects the backing of leaders, stakeholders, professionals, youth groups, and grassroots structures across the Oke-Ogun axis and other parts of the state who believe in Gbadegesin’s competence and leadership capacity.
Former Nigerian Ambassador to Togo, Debo Adesina, has called on the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to consider the Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State in its consensus plan for the 2027 election in the state.

Adesina said the age-long injustice against the people of Oke-Ogun must inform the choice of the party’s governorship candidate in the 2027 election.
The former envoy, who is one of the leaders of the Ireakari Group, noted that Oke Ogun, formed at least 31 per cent of the voting population of Oyo State coupled with having about 60 per cent of the landmass of the state.
