Ikorodu City head coach, Bright Ozebagbe, has reiterated his team’s determination to stay firmly in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title race following a commanding 3–0 victory over Kano Pillars in Lagos.

The Matchday 34 encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena saw Ikorodu City deliver a disciplined and clinical performance. Joseph Arumala opened the scoring in the first half, while Tosin Oyedokun and Abayomi Ayodeji sealed the win late on.

Speaking after the game, Ozebagbe praised his players for executing the game plan with composure and patience.

“Every game comes with a plan and the desire to get three points,” he said. “We stayed calm, remained patient, and took our chances when they came.”

Despite back-to-back strong performances, the coach maintained respect for the competitiveness of the league, stressing the importance of consistency.

“The league is very competitive. You must stay focused and take your opportunities,” he added.

With four games left, Ikorodu City remain firmly in the title and continental race. Ozebagbe acknowledged the pressure but insisted his side is well positioned.

“We’re still in the race, and the dream is alive. We’ll keep pushing to win our matches.”

He admitted that tension is inevitable at this stage of the season.

“Nothing is decided yet. Every game is important and comes with its own challenge.”

Ozebagbe also appreciated the fans for their continued support, urging them to stay behind the team as the season reaches its climax.

Ikorodu City currently sit third on the table, just three points behind leaders Rivers United, keeping their title hopes firmly intact.
