Chieftain of APC in Ondo State, Dr. Akinola Awodeyi-Akinsehinwa, has described the National Opposition Summit in Ibadan, Oyo State, as nothing more than a strategic congregation of individuals who bear direct responsibility for the economic hardship and impoverishment afflicting Nigerians.
In a statement in Lagos, he slammed the gathering, including Atiku Abubakar, Musa Kwankwaso, Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi, and Rauf Aregbesola, saying it is an attempt by failed politicians to regroup and reclaim power ahead of 2027 elections.
“Ibadan Summit was not a meeting of saviours, but a reunion of the architects of Nigeria’s socio-economic woes,” he said.

“These are the same individuals whose past failures contributed to mismanagement of our nation’s resources, poverty, insecurity, and erosion of public trust in governance”
He urged Nigerians to be vigilant and not be deceived by what he termed recycled rhetoric and empty promises.
The university don emphasised that APC, under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, is focused on rebuilding the economy, tackling inherited challenges, and delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
He asked Nigerians, youths and women to reject any alliance of desperation disguised as a united opposition front, warning allowing such forces to return to power would deepen the nation’s difficulties rather than resolve them.
“The path to a greater Nigeria lies in continuity, resilience, and sustained reforms, not in the return of those who led us into poverty and underdevelopment,” he added.
He reaffirmed his support for APC and Tinubu administration, urging citizens to rally behind the efforts to reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth and shared prosperity.
