A prominent female politician in Adamawa State, Mrs. Golfa Mallim, is mobilising people around the Guyuk–Shelleng axis of Adamawa State for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Golfa, popularly called Mama Mai Transformer, after her penchant for supplying transformers to needy communities, is spearheading a grassroots mobilisation for mass participation in the ongoing APC membership registration.
Her effort comes in the wake of recent defection of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and his loyalists from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, and following his directive to party supporters to intensify mobilisation efforts, Golfa is leading an awareness team touring communities across the Guyuk–Shelleng constituency, sensitising residents and assisting them with the registration.

Speaking during one of the community outreach visits, Golfa, who is aspiring to represent the Guyuk-Shelleng Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, said: “I see this as an obligation to the APC which I recently joined. I do not need to wait until I win an election before working for my party.”
She described herself as a loyal supporter of Governor Fintiri and, drawing parallels between the governor’s development agenda and the national reforms being implemented by President Bola Tinubu, Golfa said, “Governor Fintiri has transformed Adamawa State, just as President Tinubu is working to reposition the country.
The mass registration in Adamawa started shortly after an expanded stakeholders’ meeting involving legacy APC members and new entrants who recently defected from the PDP.
Before the recent wave of defections, the APC had registered over 450,000 members in Adamawa during its last electronic registration, and with the influx of Fintiri’s political bloc, Golfa expressed confidence that the figure would more than double within the heightened registration period.
