No fewer than  15 persons have been arrested by the operatives of Ogun Police Command along the  Ifo axis of the Lagos - Abeokuta expressway, during an enforcement operation tagged ''No Traffic Gridlock,” Ifo aimed at restoring free movement on the highway.

Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, operatives from the Ifo Division were deployed to notorious congestion points, including the Abekoko and Old Bank axis of the Abeokuta–Lagos Expressway.

The operation targeted illegal roadside trading and makeshift structures blamed for chronic traffic obstruction, according to a statement by the spokesperson of the command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi.

Operatives dismantled and evacuated planks, shanties, and displayed goods that encroached on the highway. More than six trucks were used to haul away the obstructions.

Commending the professionalism of the officers involved, CP Ojajuni reaffirmed the Command's zero-tolerance stance on activities that disrupt traffic flow and public order.

He issued a stern warning to traders and transport operators, urging strict compliance with environmental and traffic laws to ensure safety and ease of movement across the state.

The operation signals a renewed push by the Command to tackle urban congestion and enforce order on Ogun's busy road corridors.
