Kebbi State Police Command says it has launched a comprehensive clearance across the State in response to the bandits coordinated attack in which 44 persons were killed in eight communities of Gebe, Kalkami, Kawara, Kasoshi, Awaye, Tungar Rini, Binuwa, and Dabe, in Shanga Local Government Area of the state.
A statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer Superintendent of Police Bashir Usman said the operation is in line with directives of the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, that the command should launch a clearance across the state to prevent and combat banditry and violent crimes.

It said the command has so far recovered two AK 47 rifles along the Illo Kamba axis, demonstrating the effectiveness of intelligence led policing.
It also said the Commissioner of Police Umar M Hadejia had called on residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious movements, and cooperate fully with security agencies while traditional rulers, community leaders, religious bodies, and youth groups are encouraged to provide timely and credible information to the police.
