A resident of the community, Segun, said: “The police operatives invaded our town in the company of thugs who were armed. They visited the palace and other places to arrest leaders. During the process, they shot two people, whose conditions we did not know right now.” Also, one of the chiefs, Baale Shasha Egbedi, Yisa Akolapo, confirmed the attack on the community and demanded the intervention of the Inspector-General of Police.
He explained: “Policemen from Zone XI alongside some thugs arrived in the town and started shooting sporadically. They shot two people, a bullet hit one on his buttocks, while the other hit him on his head.
“They came to my house to arrest me but I was not at home, and they assaulted my son, whom they met at home and took him away. He was beaten into a coma before being released. “They equally arrested Ajiroba, he was beaten to the point that one of his eyes went blind. The queen of our king was molested and taken away. The Otun Balogun was also taken away, including Prince Rasheed and three others. They later released my son but he is in a coma due to the brutalisation of him.”
