PTE (Pearson Test of English) and ApplyBoard are simplifying the journey for Nigerian learners pursuing study, work, and migration pathways. By aligning ApplyBoard’s application support with PTE’s English-language assessment, this helps applicants understand requirements earlier, plan with confidence, and move from preparation to submission more smoothly.

For institutions, this supports a stronger pipeline by helping applicants plan earlier, reduce delays, and submit complete files.

Demand for global education and mobility from Nigeria grows. In U.S, Nigerian student enrolment reached 20,029 in 2023/24, up 13.5 per cent year over year (Open Doors 2024). In UK, the number of Nigerian students rose from 10,685 (2017/18) to 44,195 (2021/22), highlighting the scale and urgency of getting applications and language testing right. As demand rises, timely access to English testing and clearer guidance is the difference between meeting deadlines and missing an intake—so this partnership simplifies the journey and improve readiness at a key step.

Learners and counsellors can access PTE vouchers via ApplyBoard and pay in naira, avoiding foreign exchange delays and planing test dates and submission deadlines with more certainty. Bulk is available for counsellors supporting multiple applicants.

“With ApplyBoard, we’re removing barriers so learners in Nigeria can prove their English skills and stay on track for their study, work, or migration goals,” said Ipek Aydin, Team Manager, PTE Sales, Middle East and Africa.

“By combining ApplyBoard’s reach with PTE, we’re helping institutions engage better-prepared applicants and helping learners simplify the journey from planning to submission,” said Aaron McKee, Director of Global Sales - Growth and VAS, ApplyBoard.

Together, PTE and ApplyBoard aim to give learners greater certainty and help institutions receive applicants who are better prepared to meet English-language requirements and timelines.
