President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have described Pastor Enoch Adeboye as “one of Nigeria’s greatest gifts”.

They hailed the eminent cleric, further describing him as a spiritual pillar who has consistently interceded for the nation.

In a tribute marking the 84th birthday of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), the First Family applauded Adeboye’s humility, wisdom, and commitment to national development.

“Pastor Enoch Adeboye is one of our nation’s greatest gifts: a spiritual fortress, interceding for Nigeria and its people to God Almighty,” the tribute stated.

They noted that the cleric’s influence extends beyond the pulpit to philanthropy, healthcare, education and economic empowerment, impacting millions within and outside Nigeria. His teachings over five decades, they said, have shaped generations and strengthened the nation’s moral and spiritual fabric.

“We celebrate the grace of stewardship and leadership upon the life of Pastor Adeboye as he marks his 84th birthday,” the statement read.

The President and the First Lady joined Pastor Foluke Adeboye, members of the RCCG, and the Christian community in thanking God for what they described as a life of impact. They praised his continued prayers for Nigeria and his unwavering commitment to national progress.

“As Daddy G.O. celebrates this special day, we pray that God Almighty continues to bless him with good health and strength as he carries on his work in the Lord’s vineyard,” they added.

In a statement yesterday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, the Lagos State governor also described the renowned clergyman as an epitome of honesty, dedication and service.

The governor said Pastor Adeboye, who served as the second National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, has raised millions of committed followers of Jesus Christ within the Redeemed Christian Church of God and outside the church.

He said: “Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye is a true ambassador of God. He has been a blessing not just to the Redeemed Christian Church of God but also to us in Lagos State and the country.

“Pastor Adeboye’s relentless prayers for Lagos State and wise counsel over the years have contributed in no small measure to the phenomenal progress the State has continued to witness.

“Daddy GO’, as Pastor Adeboye is popularly called, is one of the respected global evangelists who has contributed immensely to the propagation of the gospel at national and international levels, without any blemish or scandal. His devoted service in God’s vineyard has helped put Nigeria in the global spotlight as a land of spiritual exploits and greatness.

“As Pastor E.A. Adeboye celebrates his 84th birthday, I pray that the Almighty God will grant him more grace and strength to continue to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and impact many lives positively.”
