•NGO seeks implementation of Disability Act

Punuka Foundation is set to hold its flagship Annual Walk for Super Special Children.

The 2026 edition will be held on May 2, 2026, in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State.

The highly anticipated community event celebrates children with neurodiverse conditions and advocates for a more inclusive and supportive society.

The walk will start from PAS World Centre Plot 7, Block A10, Layi Yusuf Street, Off Admiralty Way at 7am.

Executive Director of Punuka Foundation, Mrs. Elizabeth Idigbe, said: “At the heart of this walk is a powerful message: every child deserves to be seen, heard, supported, and celebrated.

“The Annual Walk for Super Special Children is more than just a walk; it is a movement to break stigma, raise awareness, and promote policy actions that create lasting change for neurodiverse children in Nigeria.

“We invite the public to join us in making this year’s edition even more impactful.”

Now in its fourth edition, the Walk for Super Special Children continues to grow in impact and visibility, uniting families, caregivers, advocates, professionals, and allies from across the region in a vibrant display of love, awareness, and solidarity.

The Foundation said this year’s walk will feature inclusive activities, music, and interactive sessions.

“The event also serves as a platform to highlight the urgent need for early diagnosis, inclusive education, accessible therapeutic services, and the full implementation of the Disability Act across all levels of government,” the statement said.

Punuka Foundation said it remains committed to building systems of support for children with special needs, through its Childcare Centre, community outreach programmes, and strategic advocacy.

It added that the 2026 walk reaffirms the Foundation’s dedication to fostering a Nigeria where all children can thrive.

“To learn more about how you can support or partner on this initiative, please contact us at: info@punukafoundation.org. Together, let’s walk for love. Let’s walk for inclusion. Let’s walk for our super special kids,” the foundation added.
