Katsina State, Governor Dikko Umar Radda has told over 1,500 new Corps members deployed in Katsina that the state is their second home.
Radda, who was represented by the Secretary of the State Government (SSG), Garba Abdullahi Faskari, at the ceremony, made the declaration when new Corps members were administered their oath of allegiance at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp.
He assured the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Corps members, of a conducive and a secure environment and urged them to be free, focused and ready to serve their father land,
He stressed that Katsina is a home of hospitality and heritage and that the Corps members would soon find her a home.

Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Okwor Evans, presented the Corps members as disciplined, and dedicated.
Evans expressed gratitude for the warm reception the state had accorded him since he assumed office as the 21st NYSC State Coordinator. He said he looked forward to initiating and developing programmes and activities that would be of benefit to the scheme and state.
The NYSC coordinator thanked the governor for his immense support towards the scheme and confirmed the approval of the renovation of the male hostel and staff quarters, as well as provision of mattresses and plastic chairs which will certainly be put in place.
The dignitaries at the event were the former NYSC Director-General, Brig-Gen M. I. Tsigah (rtd), Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Surajo Azeed Abukur, among others.
