Global Alliance Council has said it will host a three-in-one mega event for members in Southwest on May 16, at Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos.

It will attract participants from the council’s membership base in the region.

A Board Member, Oluwafolake  Kolawole , said the event would consolidate the group’s presence in Southwest while reinforcing its commitment to national development and political stability.

She said highlight of the ceremony will be endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office. She noted that the group recognises the President’s achievements and is committed to supporting his vision for economic growth, national unity, and sustainable development.

“This endorsement reflects our confidence in the leadership of Tinubu and our belief in the continuity of his policies for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria,” she said.

The event will feature inauguration of the working committee, and installation of patrons committed to leadership and community development.

Those to be made patrons are Anthony Adefuye, a senator and member of Lagos State Governance Advisory Council; Rufus Oguntunwase, and George Ogunjimi, among others.

To add colour to the occasion are prominent figures from the entertainment industry.

In line with its commitment to grassroots empowerment, the Council will distribute palliative to 1,000 members drawn from across the region selected through a structured and transparent process tied to their registration and Permanent Voter Card (PVC) details.

Prince Kolawole explained that the initiative was designed to ensure fairness and accountability. “Each registered member is assigned a unique identification number, which serves as a tally system. This number corresponds directly to the palliative item allocated, ensuring that distribution is orderly, transparent, and free of duplication,” she said.

She further emphasised that registration with a valid PVC remains mandatory for members, as it forms part of the council’s strategy to encourage civic participation and strengthen democratic engagement across the region.

“The Global Alliance Council is a unifying platform that cuts across the Southwest with the capacity to mobilise support for progressive leadership. Through initiatives like this, we aim to empower our members and contribute meaningfully to national development,” Kolawole added.

The group called on members, stakeholders, and the public to participate in the event, describing it as a landmark gathering that underscores unity, empowerment, and a shared vision for the future of Nigeria.
