No fewer than 2,000 households across four local government areas of Osun State benefited from food item distributions and cash gifts by Hon. Abdullahi Ayodeji Olaiya, an APC chieftain, to mark the Ramadan season.
He urged residents to offer a ‘victory’ prayer for the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), ahead of the 2026 election.
Speaking on Monday after his 2026 Annual Ramadan Lecture in Osogbo, Hon. Olaiya noted that the programme was held to further propagate the teachings from the Holy Quran to strengthen unity, love, and brotherhood.
According to him, “This outreach is a yearly programme aimed at appreciating Allah and assisting the needy. For this year’s programme, 2000 households will benefit from the food and cash package. This is the sixth edition.
“This is an annual event, and we have been very consistent since we introduced it. I believe so much in advancing the cause of humanity because I know that whatever position anyone holds is just by His grace, not by anything, hence my resolve to always put a smile on people’s faces.”
The State House of Assembly hopeful equally urged party members and Osun residents to pray for victory for the APC gubernatorial candidate, Oyebamiji, saying, “This is the only way that we can witness even development.”

“Aside from this, these gifts are dedicated to advancing the cause of our gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO.
"As we all know, Osun is at a critical moment - we are approaching the election period to elect a new Governor that will administer our dear state for another four years. The only person with an unblemished track record and incontrovertible imprints is the APC gubernatorial candidate. He is fully prepared for the job and ready to take our dear state to enviable heights.”
Earlier, Islamic cleric, Ustaz Opeyemi Ridwanullah, admonished the Muslim Ummah to rededicate themselves to the way of Allah, obey His commandments, and spend their God-given resources to advance the human cause and propagation of Islam.
Delivering his lecture titled ‘The Role of Good Governance in Islamic Constitution and System,’ he called for purity, piousness, and obedience, emphasizing that Ramadan teaches fear of Allah, generosity, and devotion.
