Communities in Olorunda Local Government Area of Osun State have lauded the council Chairman, Hon. Mojeed Adekunle Kudayisi, for the ongoing grading of community roads across the local government.

Various roads at different communities under the Olorunda council area, including Ayekale, Olobedu, Oluomo, Akogun and Abidogun, Service, Ajisebiyawo, Ifelodun, Kojufoluwa, System and Agunbelewo, as well as Ilie Area Council, were graded by Olorunda LG.

The Chairman of Zone 5, Ifelodun Community, Agunbelewo, Osogbo, Prince Hameed Oyegbade, in a statement on Saturday, commended Olorunda LG for the grading of the roads.

Oyegbade said the roads in those communities were in deplorable conditions over the years to the extent that most of them were impassable, subjecting the residents to untold hardship.

He commended the authorities of Olorunda LG for deeming it fit to grade the roads, saying that the road grading would enhance the social and economic life of the people of the area, with a significant impact on their well-being.

Oyegbade said: "This is the first time that our communities felt government impact. In fact, this road grading by Olorunda LG is demand-driven. We wrote to the Chairman, Hon. Mojeed Adekunle Kudayisi, in which we demanded the grading of our road. We are happy that the Chairman responded promptly."

"This is the beauty of the Local Government system, being the closest to the people at the grassroots, and it's also part of the benefits of Local Government autonomy. We are grateful to Olorunda LG for the grading of the roads in our communities."

Also, community leaders, including Mr Adedoyin Ayotunde, Vice Chairman of Ifelodun Community, Agunbelewo and Hon. Dele Oluyole, Mrs. Grace Lawal and Alhaji Musbau Abiodun Ajisebiyawo, also expressed gratitude to Olorunda LG for the gesture.
