The Rivers State Police Commissioner, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has presented a N21.7m cheque to the families of policemen, who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) CSP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the presentation underscored the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the Nigeria Police Force to supporting the loved ones of officers, who lost their lives while serving the nation.

Adepoju expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved families and assured them that the force remained committed to their welfare.

He noted that the sacrifices of the fallen officers would never be forgotten and emphasized the importance of sustaining morale among serving personnel through such support initiatives.

The beneficiaries commended the IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for his exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and profound commitment to the welfare of police personnel and their families.

They particularly praised his compassionate approach, timely interventions, and steadfast resolve to prioritise the wellbeing of officers, noting that his efforts continued to inspire confidence, boost morale, and strengthen the bond between the Force and its members.

They also applauded his visionary reforms and relentless pursuit of a more responsive and people-oriented police force.

The cheque presentation ceremony was a testament to the Nigeria Police Force’s enduring commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families.

The statement said as the National Police Day celebration continued, the Rivers State Police Command remained resolute in its mission to serve, protect, and uphold the dignity of those, who had sacrificed for the peace and security of the nation.
