Rovers FC have been plunged into distress following a serious road accident involving the team bus en route to Lagos for a scheduled fixture against Sporting Lagos FC.

According to an official statement from the club, the incident occurred along a highway in Delta State when the vehicle conveying players and officials lost control and crashed. Several players sustained injuries, with some requiring urgent medical attention.

The club confirmed that one player remains in critical condition and is currently receiving intensive care, raising deep concern within the team and the wider football community.

Emergency responders acted swiftly at the scene, providing immediate medical assistance before transporting the injured to nearby hospitals. In a reassuring update, no fatalities have been recorded.

Rovers FC described the incident as a painful moment, emphasizing that the affected players represent more than just athletes but symbols of unity and pride for the club.

The fixture against Sporting Lagos is now in doubt, with official confirmation on postponement or rescheduling still pending.
