Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inaugurated Local Government Renewed Hope Coordinators across the state as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement and public sensitisation on national programmes.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the 10 Degrees Events Centre, Oregun, Ikeja, where coordinators drawn from the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) were sworn in.
The governor described the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative as an activation platform designed to deepen public awareness of government programmes and encourage citizens’ participation in national development efforts.
He stressed that the initiative was not a political campaign but a movement aimed at informing Nigerians about ongoing reforms and achievements of the Federal Government.

“This is not a campaign rally. This is an activation of what we believe in and a commitment to informing citizens about government programmes and promises being fulfilled,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu said the coordinators were expected to take awareness campaigns to communities, wards and polling units, adding that the initiative would help bridge communication between government policies and the grassroots.
Highlighting achievements of the Federal Government, the governor noted that ongoing reforms had contributed to infrastructure development, economic stabilisation, increased foreign direct investment and improved social welfare initiatives.
He said the Federal Government had also made progress in infrastructure expansion across regions, currency stabilisation and implementation of a new minimum wage for workers.
Sanwo-Olu urged the coordinators to intensify community engagement and sensitisation efforts across the state.

In his welcome address, Renewed Hope Ambassador Tayo Ayinde described the inauguration as a strategic national movement aimed at strengthening public confidence and citizen engagement.
Ayinde said that the initiative was a civic engagement platform created to promote awareness of national programmes and encourage citizens’ participation in socio-economic development.
According to him, the movement operates through a coordinated national framework led by its Director-General, Governor Hope Uzodimma, with structures extending from the national level to local communities.
He urges the coordinators to serve as a link between government policies and citizens, noting that they were expected to disseminate information on national achievements to markets, campuses, and communities.
Dignitaries at the event included the Deputy Governor Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; members of the National Assembly; Lagos State Executive Council members; Lagos APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi; Attorney General and Commissioner for the Ministry of Justice, Lawal Pedro; council chairmen; party executives; traditional rulers and stakeholders from across the Southwest.
The Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative is expected to expand to all 57 local governments and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State.
