A joint security operation involving the Zamfara State Police Command has safely neutralised an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by suspected terrorists along the Danjibga–Kuncin Kalgo axis in Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement, the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, said the operation involved personnel of the Police EOD-CBRN Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Unit and Military EOD, with heavy security support from the command, led by SP Abdulrazak Musa Hassan.

He said the team implemented standard Render Safe Procedures and professionally neutralised a pressure-plate IED discovered at the location.
According to him, the explosive components were recovered for further forensic examination.
Abubakar added that after a thorough sweep and technical assessment, the area was certified free of any additional IED threats, ensuring the safety of commuters and residents along the route.
He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information to security agencies.
