The Senator representing Bauchi South, Shehu Buba Umar, has declared his intention to contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket ahead of next year’s election, insisting that the party has not adopted any consensus candidate for the race.

He announced a donation of N10 million to support the activities of the organisation.

Buba appealed to party members to remain calm amid speculations, assuring them of his continued commitment to the race. He added that major stakeholders and gubernatorial aspirants within the party remain united.

The senator’s Special Adviser on Media, Comrade Sabo Mohammed, said the meeting was to congratulate the elected state executives, promote unity and reassure supporters that Buba remains fully committed to securing the APC governorship ticket.

He added that the senator was being urged by many across the state to contest, citing what he described as his exemplary leadership qualities.

Chairman of the council, Sheikh Yusuf Abdullahi Jahun, commended the clerics for attending the meeting commending Buba for executing development projects.

He lauded the senator’s representation of Bauchi South, highlighting his charitable interventions and support for residents across the state.
