American singer David Anthony Burke, popularly known as D4vd, has been arrested by Los Angeles police in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, authorities have confirmed.

The 21-year-old is being held without bail, and police said the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office as investigations continue.

The arrest follows a months-long probe that began after the teenager’s remains were discovered on September 8, 2025.

According to investigators, the remains were found in a vehicle linked to Burke after it was towed to a Hollywood yard following reports of an unusual odour.

Authorities said the car, registered to a Texas address associated with the singer, contained the remains, which had been in the vehicle for an extended period.

The medical examiner’s office noted that the remains were in an advanced state of decomposition, indicating the victim may have died several weeks before the discovery. An official cause of death has not yet been released.

Rivas Hernandez had been reported missing in April 2024 and was last known to reside about 75 miles from where her body was found.

A grand jury in Los Angeles began hearing evidence in December, with Burke later identified as a target of the investigation. Court filings indicate he may face a murder charge as the case progresses.

She also had a tattoo reading “Shhh…” on her finger.

Burke, known for the song Romantic Homicide, cancelled his world tour and withdrew from public events after the remains were found.

He also lost multiple brand deals. His representatives previously said he was cooperating with authorities.
