During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims are expected to fast from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food, drink, and other activities that may invalidate the fast. However, certain actions can nullify the fast, requiring the individual to make up the missed day.
Here are some actions that can nullify the fast:
1. Eating or Drinking: Consuming any food or drink, whether intentionally or unintentionally, can break the fast. If done unintentionally, the fast is still considered broken, but the individual is forgiven and should stop eating or drinking as soon as they realise their mistake.
2. S3xual Activity: Engaging in s3xual activity during fasting hours can nullify the fast. This includes intercourse and other intimate acts that lead to ejaculation.

3. Intentional Vomiting: If a person intentionally vomits, their fast is considered broken. However, if vomiting occurs unintentionally, the fast remains valid.
4. Menstruation or Postpartum Bleeding: Women who experience menstruation or postpartum bleeding during Ramadan are exempt from fasting and must make up the missed days later.
5. Injecting Nutrients or Medications: Receiving injections or infusions that provide nutrients or medications can nullify the fast, as they serve as a substitute for food and drink.
6. Blood Transfusions: Receiving a blood transfusion during fasting hours can break the fast, as it introduces foreign substances into the body.
It is essential to note that accidental mistakes are forgiven, but the individual should stop the action as soon as they realise their error. Those who intentionally break their fast without a valid reason must make up the missed day and may be required to perform additional acts of penance.
