The Lakurawa terrorists group has killed nine soldiers and one policeman in an ambush at Giro Masa, Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The security operatives were tracing the terrorists to a construction company firm, following a top-off by residents when they were ambushed.
Two military trucks were also set on fire by the terrorists.

After visiting the mortuary where bodies of the soldiers were deposited, the governor described the attack as barbaric. He assured that the state government would cover the medical bills of the injured and provide support to the families of the deceased security personnel.
He said: “This is a sad incident. These are the soldiers who are protecting the lives of Kebbi residents, yet they found themselves in this situation. The Kebbi State government will not relent in its efforts to protect the lives of its citizens.”
A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the terrorists had been terrorising communities in the area before the attack. He added that the soldiers were deployed to the area because of their incursions.
“It was terrifying to see those soldiers killed when they were ambushed,” he said.
