The Nigerian Southern Senators Forum has announced with deep sorrow the passing of its general secretary, Senator Mpigi Barinada, who represented Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the current Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Forum, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, the Forum described his death as a profound loss to the Senate, Rivers State, and the nation.

Senator Mpigi was remembered as a committed and patriotic lawmaker who served with dedication, humility, and integrity. He played an active role in the Forum’s activities and discharged his duties as General Secretary with diligence and a strong sense of responsibility.

“Throughout his legislative career, from the House of Representatives to the Senate, he remained a steadfast advocate for his constituents and a respected voice in national discourse.

“The Forum commiserates with his family, his constituents, and the Government and people of Rivers State, and prays that God grant his soul eternal rest and comforts all who mourn his passing,” the Forum said.
