Orion and Leon Football Club successfully defended their title at the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament on Saturday, thrashing New Generation FC 7-0 in the grand finale at Deeonis Football Courts, Ota-Ona, Ikorodu.

The emphatic victory earned the Biyi Adesanya-coached side a prize of N500,000, with runners-up New Generation FC receiving N300,000 and third-placed Diamond Football Club taking home N100,000.

Samuel Emmanuel claimed the Top Scorer award and a N50,000 prize, while all three finalists secured qualification to represent the Ikorodu division at the state tournament in October.

Hundreds of football fans turned out to witness the finale, which tournament initiator Dr Bankole Allibay described as a strong foundation for the competition's expansion across Lagos.

"We have started well in Ikorodu and the projection is to improve on the standard in other divisions," Allibay said. "Congratulations to the top three teams — we look forward to seeing them at the state championship."

The divisional championship moves to Epe on Saturday, May 2nd.
