Kwara United Head Coach, Ashifat Suleiman, remains confident that the Harmony Boys will avoid relegation at the end of the season.

The Ilorin-based side boosted their survival hopes with a goalless draw against Shooting Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan last weekend.

Speaking on a monitored radio programme, Suleiman expressed strong belief in his team’s ability to retain their top-flight status. He revealed that the target is to win their remaining two home matches and secure at least a point from their two away fixtures.

“We believe strongly that we will survive relegation. The plan is to win our two home games and fight to get at least a point from our away matches,” he said.

The coach also lamented the challenge of playing home games away from Ilorin, noting that hosting matches in Lagos has denied the team the full backing of their supporters.

“We truly miss our fans in Ilorin. Playing in Lagos feels like an away game, even though the people there have been supportive. But there is no place like home,” he added.

Suleiman thanked supporters for their continued encouragement and assured them the team will finish the season strongly.

Kwara United currently sit 16th on the table with 40 points from 34 matches, just above the relegation zone on goal difference. They will host Barau FC in Lagos this weekend in another league tie.
