President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his warmest congratulations to the contingent of Nigerian-descent players who powered the Seattle Seahawks to a 29–13 victory over the New England Patriots, securing the Super Bowl 60 title at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The Seahawks’ victory secured the franchise’s second Lombardi Trophy, with Tinubu singling out several players of Nigerian heritage who featured prominently in the team’s Super Bowl-winning line-up.

Those mentioned include Jalen Oluwaseun Milroe, the quarterback; Nick Emmanwori, described as a defensive standout; Uchenna Nwosu, a veteran line-backer; Boye Maye, a linebacker; and Olu Oluwatimi, an offensive lineman.

Tinubu also extended congratulations to Michael Onwenu of the New England Patriots, whom he described as one of the most dominant offensive linemen in the league.

The President particularly commended Emmanwori, Nwosu, and Maye for what he called a symbolic show of patriotism, noting that the trio raised Nigeria’s flag after the Seahawks’ Super Bowl win.

According to Tinubu, the achievements of the players reaffirm the global image of Nigerians as a people known for excellence, resilience, and talent in every field of endeavour.

He wished the athletes continued success and more victories in their careers.
