Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has moved to quell growing speculation about his future, assuring the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that he will see out the remainder of his contract.
The 48-year-old has attracted interest from clubs and national teams across Africa and beyond following Nigeria's third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. His representatives have also tabled proposals for an improved deal that would include a significant pay rise and expanded oversight responsibilities.

However, a top NFF official has told SCORENigeria that Chelle remains committed to the role.
"Eric has maintained he will respect his contract with the NFF and has no plans to leave before it expires," the official said. "Leading the Super Eagles is great for his profile — it's not just anybody who gets the chance to head one of Africa's top teams."
As part of his commitment to the team's future, Chelle is set to attend the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash between Ikorodu City and Wikki Tourists on 5 May — a fixture rescheduled due to the Lagos State Federation Cup final — as he assesses domestic talent ahead of next month's Unity Cup in London.
Among the players likely to catch his eye is Ikorodu City striker Joseph Arumala, who has scored 12 goals this season.
Chelle's current contract runs until January 2027, with an option to extend by a further year.
