Sources said the unidentified man allegedly sneaked into the area under the cover of darkness with the intention of dismantling parts of the transformer believed to contain valuable copper materials.

In the process, he reportedly came in contact with high-voltage equipment and was electrocuted.

The body was discovered at dawn by early morning passers-by, although residents believed the incident happened around midnight.

They urged youths to desist from criminal activities and pursue legitimate means of livelihood.

Residents also called on relevant authorities to strengthen surveillance and security around critical infrastructure, to prevent further acts of vandalism.
