Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (T.A.T), has led cabinet members, legislators, management team and staff for the Environmental Sanitation in the council.

The team also embarked on an inspection tour across the six wards to monitor compliance and ensure residents adhere strictly to the sanitation guidelines.

The council boss emphasised the importance of environmental cleanliness as a major pillar of healthy living, noting that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise aligns with his administration’s SHIEELD Agenda, particularly in promoting environmental sustainability, public health, and the overall well-being of the people of Ejigbo.

“We will stop at nothing to ensure that all black spots and drainage channels within Ejigbo are cleared of dirt and refuse in order to make our environment habitable and conducive for all residents,” he said.

Taiwo said the council’s waste compactor truck would be strategically deployed for effective evacuation and mop-up of waste generated during the sanitation exercise, while council-employed sweepers would be actively on ground to complement efforts and ensure thorough cleanliness of the environment.

The council boss appealed to residents to embrace the exercise, stressing that cleanliness is a collective responsibility of everyone.

He reminded residents that all waste must be properly sorted, bagged, and placed at designated Lagos Waste Management Authority collection points before 8:30 a.m. for seamless evacuation.
