The Executive Secretary of NHIA Taraba, Pharm. Jacob Kenzukpi, disclosed that the enrollment figure has jumped from 25,000 in 2023 to 130,000 in 2025, with 6000 more forms processed and ready for database upload.

The scheme targets vulnerable groups, including women, children under 5, and the elderly.

"The enrollment from 2023 when I came on board was 25,000. The figure continues up to 124,000 in 2025, we have processed additional 6000 forms that are ready to put on the data base, we have also identified 2000 persons leaving with HIV across the state, they are to be enrolled by next month,”Kenzukpi stated.

Kenzukpi lauded partners like UNICEF and Pro-Health, for their support, which he said has boosted enrollment.

Kenzukpi appealed to the Taraba state government for assistance in raising awareness, citing that over 60 percent of locals are unaware of the scheme's benefits.

“We need to sensitise our people," he emphasised.
