Team 4DCure emerged as the winners of the fourth edition of the Foundation for Cancer Care “Swing Against Cancer Charity Golf Day,” held at the Golf Section of Ikoyi Club 1938 on April 17.

The team, comprising Olaide Okubanjo, Olamide Ayanbadejo, Oladejo Odunuga, and Kunle Olawale, recorded a total of 88 stableford points to clinch the top position. Team Pepsi finished second with 83 points, while defending champions Team Sacvin placed third with 82 points.

Organised by the Foundation for Cancer Care, the annual event brings together golfers, advocates, cancer survivors, and partners to raise funds for cancer screening, treatment, and awareness.

Chairman of the foundation, Chumy Nwogu, highlighted the tournament's significance in promoting early detection and awareness.

He emphasised the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and routine screening, noting that early detection remains critical in the fight against cancer.

Also speaking, advocate Farooq Oreagba urged the public to prioritise regular medical check-ups, stressing that early diagnosis can significantly improve outcomes.

Other winners included Betty Idahosa, who claimed the Ladies Nearest-the-Pin prize, and Tony Esu, who won the Men’s Nearest-the-Pin, both on Hole 11. Ebosetale Okhueleigbe secured the Longest Drive for Ladies, while Steve Muriithi won the Longest Drive for Men, both on Hole 9.
