One of the deceased was a female student enrolled in the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB), alongside her cousin and another young boy. The third victim was the biological son of the suspect, who is reportedly mentally unstable.

Community sources said the suspect allegedly attacked before fleeing the scene, leaving residents in disbelief.

A resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the incident as devastating, noting that the victims were closely related and had promising futures.

Further findings indicated that the family head, identified as Baba Agbaye, had earlier left the house with his wife and youngest child for their farm. They reportedly encountered the suspect upon their return, unaware that the incident had already occurred at home.

The victims' remains have been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital.

Residents continue to express grief over the development, describing it as a painful occurrence that has left the entire community in deep sorrow.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, said the suspect has been arrested, and investigations are ongoing.

"The suspect has been arrested, and a thorough investigation is currently ongoing. He will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

"The Command urges the good people of Ondo State to remain calm and law-abiding, assuring that due diligence will be observed to ensure that justice is served accordingly," he stated.
