One of the deceased was identified as a female student enrolled in the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB), alongside her cousin and another young boy.

The third victim was said to be the biological son of the suspected attacker, who is believed to be mentally unstable.

Sources said the suspect allegedly carried out the attack before fleeing the scene, leaving residents in disbelief.

Findings further showed that the family head, identified as Baba Agbaye, had earlier left the house with his wife and youngest child for their farm.

It was gathered that they later encountered the suspect on their way back, unaware that the killings had already taken place at home.

The remains of the victims have been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital.

Residents have continued to express grief over the development, describing it as a painful and unfortunate occurrence that has plunged the entire community into deep sorrow.

The spokesperson for the state Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jimoh Abayomi, said the suspect has been arrested.

“The suspect has been arrested, and a thorough investigation is ongoing. He will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

“The Command urges the good people of Ondo State to remain calm and law-abiding, assuring that due diligence will be observed to ensure that justice is served accordingly,” he stated.
