Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, led by former governors Isa Yuguda and Mohammed Abubakar, have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, citing employment gains and ongoing development initiatives under his administration.
The endorsement followed a stakeholders’ meeting held in Bauchi yesterday, where the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Development, Muhammad Ali Pate, disclosed that no fewer than 2,000 youths from the state have secured employment since Tinubu assumed office in 2023.
Pate said Bauchi is among the key beneficiaries of the administration’s policies, noting that the employed youths are spread across various sectors nationwide.
He added that several others are currently undergoing specialised training at institutions, including the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun.
Moving a motion for the President’s endorsement, Pate urged Bauchi residents to reciprocate what he described as Tinubu’s commitment to the state.
The motion was seconded by Abubakar, who called for sustained support for the administration.
The minister also highlighted developments in the health sector, pointing to the establishment of federal medical institutions such as the Federal Medical Centre in Misau and a teaching hospital in Azare, which he said have improved access to healthcare services, particularly maternal care.
Speaking at the meeting, Yuguda, who chairs the Renewed Hope Agenda in the North-East, said Tinubu’s ongoing reforms would deliver long-term economic benefits and appealed for widespread support for his re-election bid.
In his remarks, Abubakar said the President has demonstrated commitment to Bauchi through strategic appointments and projects, urging residents to back continuity.
Other party leaders, including Senator Shehu Buba Umar and oil and gas expert Bala Wunti, also pledged to mobilise support for Tinubu across the state.
The Bauchi APC Chairman, Hassan Tilde, assured that the party would intensify grassroots mobilisation, citing federal investments in agriculture, education, and other critical sectors as key drivers for support.
