President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will, on April 8 and 9, visit Lagos State to inaugurate a number of landmark projects executed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, disclosed this during a media briefing at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa, Ikeja.
He said the visit underscores the state government’s commitment to infrastructure development, economic growth, and improved living standards, adding that the projects reflect strategic investments across key sectors.
Omotoso described the President’s visit as significant for both Lagos and the country, noting that the projects slated for commissioning cut across transportation, education, public service efficiency, and economic development.
Among the projects to be inaugurated is the Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge, a 5.04-kilometre road network aimed at easing traffic congestion along major corridors, including Ojota, Maryland, Mende, Opebi and Allen in the Ikeja axis.

He explained that the project, conceived over two decades ago, was revived and completed by the present administration to enhance connectivity and reduce travel time for commuters.
Also billed for inauguration is the Alausa Multi-Agency Complex, a four-block integrated facility designed to accommodate multiple government agencies in one location.
According to the commissioner, the complex will improve inter-agency coordination, streamline processes, and enhance service delivery, describing it as a step towards more citizen-focused governance.
“In the education sector, the President will inaugurate the redeveloped Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle,” he said.
Omotoso noted that the project comprises 36 schools—31 secondary and five primary—serving about 20,000 students on 11.73 hectares of land.
He added that the redevelopment involved the construction of new classroom blocks and the upgrade of previously dilapidated structures to improve learning conditions and reduce the student-to-classroom ratio.
Facilities at the complex include an ICT hub, central laboratory, vocational training centre, sports facilities, a health centre, and disability-friendly buildings.

The commissioner said the project, coming over four decades after the school’s establishment, reflects the administration’s commitment to inclusive and quality education.
Other projects slated for commissioning include the Lagos State Geographic Information Service building and a mid-level agro-produce hub along the Lekki-Epe corridor.
Omotoso said the projects were deliberately designed to address urban challenges, stimulate economic growth, and improve social welfare in line with the vision of a sustainable and globally competitive Lagos.
He added that the visit highlights the synergy between the federal and state governments, as well as the importance of continuity in governance.
The commissioner assured residents of adequate arrangements to ensure a smooth and secure visit, including traffic and security measures to minimise disruptions.

He urged residents to cooperate with authorities and adhere to advisories ahead of the President’s arrival.
“Lagos State is ready to receive Mr President. We look forward to showcasing our achievements and reaffirming our commitment to excellence in governance and service delivery,” he said.
Also speaking, the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Bakare-Oki Olalekan, said traffic management plans had been put in place.
He said 500 additional personnel would be deployed to complement officers on the ground, assuring motorists of minimal travel delays.
Oki, however, advised residents to plan their movements and avoid affected areas unless necessary.
