President Bola Tinubu has emphasized that sustaining peace and unity across Nigeria is essential for national development.
He made the remarks at the unveiling of Odyssey of Royalty, the autobiography of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, Emmanuel E. Sideso, Abe I, held at the monarch’s palace in Effurun GRA, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.
Represented by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, the President commended Abe I for promoting peace and progress in his domain through collaboration with federal authorities.

Tinubu acknowledged the monarch’s contributions to local governance, expressed pride in his leadership, and wished him continued health and longevity.
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by his Chief of Staff, Prince Johnson Erijo, described the event as a celebration of legacy and enlightened leadership.
He noted that the biography aligns with his administration’s M.O.R.E. Agenda and stands as a gift to Uvwie Kingdom, Delta State, and Nigeria, reinforcing the idea that true royalty is measured by service and integrity.
In his keynote address, Abe I thanked the people of Uvwie for their support throughout his 18-year reign and highlighted the importance of preserving personal and communal history.
“Until the lion tells his side of the story, the tale of the hunt will always glorify the hunter,” he reflected. He also called for national unity, a constitution grounded in justice, and collaboration among traditional rulers to advance society.

Chief launcher Government Ekpemupolo, known as Tompolo, represented by Hon. Silver Ofughara, praised the monarch for his transformative 18-year reign. The Emir of Ako, Umaru Mohamed Atiku, Chairman of the National Mega Summit of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, commended Abe I for attracting development and providing effective leadership as chairman of the body.
Other speakers, including Uvwie Council Chairman Chief Anthony Ofoni and book reviewer Prof. Joe Agbugu (SAN), lauded the Ovie’s commitment to education, noting that over 2,000 students have benefited from scholarships awarded during his reign. Attendees were encouraged to obtain copies of Odyssey of Royalty: The Reign of Abe I, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, which chronicles the monarch’s life, family, and reign.
The ceremony celebrated not only the achievements of Abe I but also the collective progress of the Uvwie people toward sustained development.
The event attracted royal fathers and political heavyweights from across the country. Among them were the Orodje of Okpe, Orhue I; the Pere of Akugbene Mein, Kalanama VIII; the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III; and the Ovie of Agbarha-Warri, Igbi II; the Obi of Aboh, Oputa III; the Ovie of Idjerhe, Udurhie I, and several others.
