Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the administration of President Bola Tinubu has delivered a “new Nigeria,” recording unprecedented milestones within three years and laying a solid foundation for a second term in office.

Sanwo-Olu made the remarks during the inauguration of 20 Local Government Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) in Lagos State.

The event, held at the 10 Degrees Events Centre in Oregun, Ikeja, was designed to strengthen grassroots sensitisation on government programmes and ongoing national reforms.

The governor explained that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative is not a political campaign structure but a civic engagement platform established to promote awareness of President Tinubu’s policies and achievements.

“This is not a campaign rally. This is an activation of what we believe in and a commitment to informing citizens about government programmes and promises being fulfilled,” he said.

He added that coordinators, drawn from the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state, were sworn in and charged with taking awareness campaigns to communities, wards, polling units, markets, campuses, and other grassroots platforms.

He stated that as part of the initiative, 20 branded buses bearing the Renewed Hope Agenda logo and President Tinubu’s image were distributed to the coordinators to facilitate mobilization and logistics.

Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted the Federal Government’s achievements, including infrastructure expansion, economic stabilisation, increased foreign direct investment, implementation of a new minimum wage, reduced debt burden, lower inflation, and improved social welfare initiatives.

He urged the coordinators to intensify community engagement and sensitisation efforts to ensure citizens are well informed about government initiatives.

“The Renewed Hope Ambassadors have chosen to go to every ward and propagate. President Tinubu’s achievements are numerous to count. He has birthed a new Nigeria, reduced the debt burden, stabilised the economy, provided a new minimum wage, expanded infrastructure, reduced inflation, lowered food prices, and attracted foreign investments. For me, I will say let him continue. We are ready to support him for a second term,”he said.

Renewed Hope Ambassador Lagos Coordinator, Tayo Ayinde, described the initiative as a “national movement of engagement and responsibility” designed to strengthen public confidence.

“It is not a campaign organisation but a mandate to communicate the President’s achievements to communities, markets, schools, and the grassroots,” he said, warning coordinators to treat the oath of allegiance as an assignment, not an honorary title.

South West Renewed Hope Coordinator, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye, said, “We are not afraid of the election because we are confident of winning. What worries opponents is jealousy over the President’s achievements.” Similarly, Sunday Akere, RHA coordinator from Osun State, added that while the campaign has not started, coordinators are to spread the gospel of the President’s achievements through political outreach and mobilisation.

Representing the 20 coordinators from Ikorodu Local Government, Japhet Odesanya said, “We will go to all nooks and crannies of the state to propagate what the President has done. We will not disappoint; we will deliver.”

Dignitaries at the inauguration included Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, Chief of Staff to the Governor Tayo Ayinde, members of the National Assembly, Lagos State Executive Council members, APC chieftains, traditional rulers, council chairmen, and stakeholders from across the Southwest.

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative is expected to expand to all 57 local governments and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State, serving as a bridge between government policies and citizens at the grassroots.
