The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a "lodestar" whose leadership has fundamentally redefined the course of Nigeria’s history over the last four decades.

In a terse congratulatory message marking the President’s 74th birthday, Alake lauded Tinubu for his lifelong commitment to democratic struggle and his current efforts in "spearheading a renaissance" through bold national reforms.

Reflecting on the President’s political journey, the Minister noted that Tinubu’s influence stretches back to the dark days of military rule, specifically highlighting his role in the fight for the June 12, 1993, mandate.

"From your pivotal role in the struggle for the actualization of the annulled June 12, 1993 elections, to your transformative tenure as Governor of Lagos State... you have shown like a lodestar!" Alake stated.

The Minister also applauded the President's unique ability to unite political factions, crediting him with "galvanizing the first successful merger of opposition parties" in Nigeria’s history—a feat that eventually led to the formation of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Alake, the President’s current administration is marked by a quiet but powerful determination to fix the country’s structural issues. He described the ongoing policy shifts as "quite unprecedented" in the annals of the nation.

"When the story of Nigeria’s democratic evolution is told, your name will stand etched as an indelible part of it — your footprints firmly engraved on the sands of time," Alake maintained.

The Minister then prayed for the President’s continued health and insight as he navigates the complexities of leading Africa's most populous nation.

"May the Almighty continue to guide you and imbue you with the wisdom required to steer our country aright," Alake prayed.
