...unveils agenda to reposition Abuja event design sector

A new chapter has begun in Abuja’s creative industry as Mrs. Tolulope Oladipupo, Chief Executive Officer of Alveena Events and Victoria O Signature Events, has been elected as the inaugural President of the Association of Creative Event Designers, Abuja (ACEDA).

Her emergence, which followed the association’s election held on March 26, 2026, is widely seen as a defining moment for stakeholders within the capital’s event design ecosystem, with expectations high for structural growth and global visibility.

Accepting the mandate, Oladipupo pledged to reposition the industry through innovation, sustainability and strategic collaboration, noting that her administration would be guided by a forward-thinking blueprint tagged “Vision to Velocity.”

“I am honoured and grateful for the trust placed in me. My focus is on member advocacy and protection, ensuring a balanced relationship between designers and clients, and setting a sustainable global blueprint for our industry. Together, we will uphold the standards of our design community and put ACEDA on the global map,” she stated.

The newly elected president, regarded as a pioneer in Abuja’s luxury event design space, brings years of professional experience to the role, positioning her to drive reforms within the association.

Central to her leadership is a seven-point agenda aimed at strengthening professionalism and competitiveness among members.

Key components of the agenda include the establishment of an “ACEDA Gold Standard” to ensure uniform quality and professionalism across projects, as well as the creation of a digital global directory to showcase the works of Abuja-based designers and attract international opportunities.

The agenda also prioritises advocacy, with plans to provide legal protection for members, particularly in the areas of intellectual property rights and fair pricing, in a bid to curb unhealthy competition within the industry.

In line with global trends, Oladipupo further outlined initiatives to integrate technology into event design through workshops focusing on emerging tools such as artificial intelligence and immersive guest experiences powered by augmented and virtual reality.

Sustainability also features prominently in her roadmap, with the promotion of eco-friendly “Green Events” as a core value designed to align members with international environmental standards and attract partnerships with global organisations.

She added that fostering originality and a collaborative culture among designers would remain a top priority, noting that unity within the association is critical to achieving long-term growth.

Industry observers believe that with Oladipupo at the helm, ACEDA is well-positioned to transform Abuja’s event design sector into a more structured, innovative and globally competitive industry.
