High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has once again recorded a massive victory over his detractors. Those who plotted to derail him have now realized that he is like a moving train unstoppable and relentless.
Recently, Tompolo’s security company, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, which holds the pipeline surveillance contract to protect critical oil and gas facilities in the Niger Delta region, came under intense scrutiny. Many unhappy stakeholders wrote several petitions raising concerns about the centralization of contracts, exclusion of local communities, demand for audits, cost and effectiveness issues, as well as alleged human rights violations.
As these petitions were being reviewed, speculation grew that Tantita might not retain the contract going forward. In response, Tompolo and his team decided to counter the allegations with verifiable facts. They appeared before the joint National Assembly Committee on Petroleum Resources at its Parliamentary Roundtable on the State of Pipeline Security, where they presented pictorial and video evidence showcasing their hard work in curbing economic sabotage and reducing crude oil theft to the barest minimum.

With Nigeria seeking to boost daily oil production, Tantita demonstrated how it leverages technological advancements to deal decisively with those milking the nation dry. The company not only displayed its achievements but also proffered pragmatic solutions to end the menace of crude oil theft.
Impressed by the presentation, the joint committee dismissed three petitions against Tantita and passed a vote of confidence in the company. A motion moved by the Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Ikenga Ugochinyere, noted that the petitioners had failed to appear to defend their allegations despite repeated invitations. The motion to dismiss the petitions was unanimously adopted.
Tompolo, a former freedom fighter, continues to silence naysayers unhappy with how his company is tackling oil theft. He has reiterated his commitment to diligently securing pipelines to help Nigeria increase production, generate more revenue, and fund critical capital projects. Unshaken by the petitions which he believes were orchestrated by his enemies Tompolo remains strong and focused, working tirelessly to keep the creeks safe and ensure that international oil companies (IOCs) can operate optimally for economic stability.
