Former Niger Delta freedom fighter and Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), High Chief Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a Tompolo, has called for love, unity, and peaceful coexistence among the Ijaw people.
Tompolo made the call while marking his birthday in the forest of Aziza (Father Igologolo) in Gbaramatu kingdom, where he celebrated with the deity.
Speaking during the event, the former Niger Delta militant leader urged Ijaw people, regardless of religious affiliation, to embrace forgiveness and dialogue in resolving disputes.

“The most important thing is that all Ijaw people, whether they go to church or practise traditional religion, should love ourselves. If we have misunderstandings, we should come to a roundtable and forgive ourselves. We should always forgive ourselves so that the Ijaw nation can always speak with one voice at a time,” he said.
He also emphasised the importance of loyalty and mutual respect among associates.
“Today, what we have come to do here, anybody who is your friend and is playing with somebody, people will also play with you,” he added.
His message came amid a recent outburst by some prominent Ijaw stakeholders, including Ebikabowei Victor-Ben (Boyloaf), Ateke Tom, and Shoot-at-Sight, who voiced strong opinions over calls to decentralize pipeline surveillance contracts in the Niger Delta.
At the ceremony, Tompolo further prayed for peace among those present at the gathering.
“All the people that are gathered here today, you will have peace in your homes,” he said.
Against this backdrop, Tompolo’s call for unity is seen as a strategic appeal aimed at calming tensions and fostering cohesion within the Ijaw nation.
