The Akowonjo area of Lagos came alive on Saturday night as renowned gospel singer, Tope Alabi, led thousands of worshippers in an electrifying praise session at the ongoing Akowonjo for Christ Crusade.
The open space within the Pertinence Group premises in Egbeda was filled with an atmosphere of intense worship as Alabi ministered soul-lifting songs, drawing the crowd into moments of deep spiritual reflection.
Many attendees were seen singing, dancing and expressing joy as the gospel artiste delivered some of her popular tracks.

“Worship without accepting Christ is meaningless. You must surrender your life to Him for your worship to have value,” she said during an altar call that saw many respond.
The crusade, organised by The Great Commission (TGC) and The Grace Rock Church, also featured ministrations from clerics who charged the congregation to deepen their faith.
Pastor Funso Popoola of The Grace Rock Church, while preaching, encouraged worshippers to remain expectant of divine intervention. Drawing from the biblical account of the healing at the Pool of Bethesda in Jerusalem, he stressed that God’s power remains available to all.
“You are the one God has come for today,” Popoola said. “There is nothing you are looking for that God does not have in abundance. This is not a place to tell stories, but a place to pray.”
In his sermon, President of The Great Commission Christian Network (TGC), Andy Ikekhide, led the congregation into fervent prayers and worship.

Speaking on the theme, “Arise, for your light has come,” he referenced the deliverance of Peter in Acts Chapter 12, urging participants to seek divine intervention.
Declaring words of hope, Ikekhide said: “What killed others will not kill you. When God opens a door, no man can shut it.”
He further urged worshippers to pray for restoration, new beginnings and open doors, noting that God’s presence is sufficient to break every barrier.
The three-day crusade, which began on Friday, April 10, will conclude on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Pertinence Group premises, located behind NEPA Filling Station, Tinuola Close, Animashaun Bus Stop, Akowonjo.
Beyond the spiritual activities, organisers provided free medical services, including blood pressure and malaria checks, as well as distributed food items such as garri and rice to members of the community.
Many attendees who responded to the altar call were prayed for, marking a significant spiritual highlight of the event.
