Troops of the Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have killed scores of Boko Haram terrorists and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during renewed offensive operations across the North-East theatre.
The successes were recorded under Operation Desert Sanity V, according to a statement issued on Saturday by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Lt. Col. Sani Uba.
He said troops have continued to sustain aggressive clearance operations aimed at dismantling terrorist enclaves and disrupting their logistics networks.
“In Sector 2, troops in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force successfully neutralised scores of terrorists during a night operation around Muktum and Ngirbuwa villages,” the statement said.
According to him, items recovered from the scene included two AK-47 rifles, three motorcycles and several mobile phones. Further exploitation along the terrorists’ withdrawal route revealed drag marks and a shallow grave, suggesting additional enemy casualties.

Similarly, troops of Sector 1 operating along the Bulayobe–Darel Jamel axis in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State engaged fleeing terrorists attempting to cross a Main Supply Route. The insurgents reportedly fled in disarray, abandoning two sacks containing assorted logistics items suspected to be supplies for terrorist elements.
While noting that the general security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, the military said troops’ morale and combat efficiency remain high as they continue to dominate their areas of responsibility and frustrate terrorist activities.
The Headquarters OPHK reassured residents of the North-East of its commitment to sustaining pressure on Boko Haram and ISWAP elements until lasting peace and economic stability are fully restored in the region.
