Chess master Tunde Onakoya announced that he will represent the WR Chess team at the World Team Rapid and Blitz Championship in Hong Kong in June.
In a Monday post on X, Onakoya said he was proud to join the team and would play alongside chess legend Viswanathan Anand, akanemsko, Wadim Rosenstein, and other top-ranked players.
He wrote, "Proud to announce that I’ll be representing the @wr_chess team at the World Team Rapid and Blitz Championship in Hong Kong in June. I’ll be playing alongside my personal legends @vishy64theking @akanemsko488 @WadimRosenstein and some of the top players in the world".

The World Team Rapid and Blitz Championship is one of the major team events on the global chess calendar, featuring elite grandmasters and mixed squads.
Onakoya, the founder of Chess in Slums Africa, has gained international recognition for his advocacy work and record-breaking marathon chess sessions.
