Two persons have been confirmed dead following a midnight collision involving two fully laden container trucks along the Cele inward axis of the Oshodi Apapa Expressway at Mile 2, Lagos.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), in a statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq, said the crash involved two 40-foot containerised trucks and occurred late at night, resulting in the death of one of the drivers and a suspected miscreant.
According to the statement, the driver of one of the trucks, with registration number T 392 LA, died after being trapped inside the steering compartment due to the severity of the impact. A second victim, described as a suspected miscreant, was found dead beneath one of the trucks, although his presence around the articulated vehicles at the time of the crash could not be immediately established.

The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), whose technical support assisted in the complex recovery process.
Security operatives from the Nigeria Police Force, Ilasa Police Division, were also deployed to the scene to secure the area and preserve evidence.
