Actress and filmmaker Uche Montana has set a new record after her latest film, Monica 2, surpassed 10 million YouTube views within two days of release.
The film which premiered May 2, 2026, on Uche Montana TV, drew immediate attention, underscoring how digital platforms are reshaping Nollywood distribution.
The project crossed one million within its first few hours, passed four million shortly after, and hit six million by the end of day one. By day two, it had topped 10 million.
Montana acknowledged the milestone in a brief message to fans, attributing it to “God” and offering no further explanation.
“10M in 2 days. No explanation, just God”, she wrote.
‘Monica 2’ continues the story from Monica, which also drew strong online viewership earlier in 2026.
The sequel follows Montana’s character through emotional and domestic struggles, including strained ties with her mother, played by Blessing Onwukwe, and challenges in relationship life with her on-screen boyfriend, John Ekanem.
Viewers have praised the film’s emotional tone, relatable conflicts, and focus on family dynamics and personal boundaries.
Its performance adds to a growing trend of Nollywood films finding major audiences on YouTube.
Similar traction has been recorded by projects like Omoni Oboli’s Love in Every Word series, which has drawn tens of millions of views across instalments.
