Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State (UNIZIK) has announced the appointment of Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, a Harvard executive-trained leader, visionary entrepreneur, and Chairman/CEO of Stanel Group and The Delborough Lagos, as chairman of the University’s Advancement Management Board.

Dr. Uzochukwu, widely known as STANEL, brings a distinguished track record in business innovation, leadership, and institutional development. Prior to this appointment, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the UNIZIK Business School, a role he assumed in October 2021.

Beyond UNIZIK, Dr. Uzochukwu holds several notable corporate and academic board positions. He is also recognized as one of the youngest board members of Igbinedion University Okada, reflecting his growing influence across Nigeria’s business and higher education landscape.

Speaking on his appointment, Dr. Uzochukwu underscored his vision for impact-driven leadership: “Great institutions are not sustained by history alone, they are propelled by intentional people.” He further added, “I come with a responsibility to bring strategic thinking, bold partnership and a relentless drive for excellence.”

At the inauguration ceremony held at the UNIZIK Business School Hall, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ugochukwu Anyaehie, expressed strong confidence in the newly constituted board. He highlighted Dr. Uzochukwu’s commitment to institutional excellence, noting that the University stands to benefit significantly from his leadership and strategic direction.

Dr. Uzochukwu’s appointment marks a significant step in UNIZIK’s continued efforts to strengthen its advancement initiatives and position the institution for sustained growth and global relevance.
