These recognitions were made at the 3rd National Conference of the Academy of Innovative Research, Science and Technological Development (AcIRSTD), themed: ‘Attaining Socio-economic Development in Nigeria through Science, Technology and Innovation’, which held at the Nigerian National Merit Award House in Abuja.

As part of the activities of the conference,  Adedimeji was decorated and certified a Fellow of the Academy, in acknowledgement of his vast contributions to the development of higher education in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, he has congratulated the Dean of the Postgraduate School of the African School of Economics (The Pan-African University of Excellence), Abuja, Prof. Adegboyega Karim, on his appointment as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

In a statement, Adedimeji described  Karim’s appointment as richly deserved and well merited given his immense contributions to Nigeria within the academia, development and  security ecosystems over the past four decades.

He expressed confidence in his  capacity to steer the foremost Nigerian university to  academic excellence, peaceful development and institutional growth.

Adedimeji described Karim’s appointment as not only a fitting call to duty for him but also an honour to the university, which has benefited from his vast academic and research experience as its pioneer Dean of the Postgraduate School.

The Vice Chancellor expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Education, Dr  Tunji Alausa, for the honour bestowed on the African School of Economics through the appointment.

While wishing the new Pro-Chancellor and Council Chairman an impactful tenure,  assured him of the support of the founder of ASE, Prof. Leonard Wantchekon, and his networks across the world, the Board of Trustees and the entire university community.
