In what has been described as a serial award streak, the Vice Chancellor of the African School of Economics(ASE) (The Pan-African University of Excellence), Abuja, Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji, has again been recognised for his leadership in innovation, research and development.

These recognitions were made at the 3rd National Conference of the Academy of Innovative Research, Science and Technological Development (AcIRSTD), themed: ‘Attaining Socio-economic Development in Nigeria through Science, Technology and Innovation’, which held at the Nigerian National Merit Award House in Abuja.
As part of the activities of the conference, Adedimeji was decorated and certified a Fellow of the Academy, in acknowledgement of his vast contributions to the development of higher education in Nigeria.
Besides, he was also appointed a Member of the Board of Directors of the Academy in recognition of his sterling leadership qualities.

Adedimeji thanked the leadership of the academy for giving him additional challenge and noted that he would continue to work collaboratively with others in the Board of Directors to promote scholarship, advance research and support developmental initiatives both within and outside the academia.

Meanwhile, he has congratulated the Dean of the Postgraduate School of the African School of Economics (The Pan-African University of Excellence), Abuja, Prof. Adegboyega Karim, on his appointment as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
In a statement, Adedimeji described Karim’s appointment as richly deserved and well merited given his immense contributions to Nigeria within the academia, development and security ecosystems over the past four decades.
He expressed confidence in his capacity to steer the foremost Nigerian university to academic excellence, peaceful development and institutional growth.
Adedimeji described Karim’s appointment as not only a fitting call to duty for him but also an honour to the university, which has benefited from his vast academic and research experience as its pioneer Dean of the Postgraduate School.
The Vice Chancellor expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, for the honour bestowed on the African School of Economics through the appointment.
While wishing the new Pro-Chancellor and Council Chairman an impactful tenure, assured him of the support of the founder of ASE, Prof. Leonard Wantchekon, and his networks across the world, the Board of Trustees and the entire university community.
