He doesn’t blow his own trumpet, but last week, the city of Brampton played a symphony in his honour of Esv. Victor Adekunle Alonge, Chairman of Willows Project Limited. The Ilesha born businessman is that rare breed of leader who speaks softly but builds powerfully. A seasoned chartered surveyor, estate valuer, and transformative entrepreneur, he served as the 26th President of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV). He is also a former non-executive director of Penman Pensions Limited (now AXA Mansard Pension). But beyond the titles, he wears a more profound crown as the Awokose Omoluabi Oodua, a title that marks him as a generous, hardworking philanthropist of impeccable character.

Refined, cosmopolitan, and fiercely unassuming, Alonge has made headway in every venture he has touched. Yet, he remains one of those rare souls who uplift communities without making a noise about it. Last week, the noise came to him. Right inside his Ikeja GRA office in Lagos, the City of Brampton and its Mayor, His Worship Mayor Patrick Brown, honoured the Ilesha-born business mogul with a Certificate of Recognition and a special Community Building Award.
According to the Mayor’s citation, Alonge’s “partnership and commitment to strengthening institutional relations, cultural exchange, and economic development” made him eminently worthy of the recognition. The award was presented by Mrs. Kehinde Okoroafor on behalf of Mayor Brown. She also delivered a powerful invitation as the Mayor is ready to receive Alonge in Brampton this month for a high-level bilateral meeting on investment. For a man who prefers results over rants and impact over Instagram, this honour isn’t just a certificate. It’s a bridge between continents. And Victor Alonge is already walking across it.
