Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tega Dominic, has cautioned prospective contestants against participating in the show, citing the adverse effects it had on her mental health.

Dominic said her anxiety worsened after leaving the house and later developed into social anxiety, making it difficult for her to attend events without support.

She noted that the reality TV environment can be overwhelming and emphasised the need for strong mental resilience before participating.

The reality star added that the experience also affected her comfort with physical interaction, explaining that while she can initiate hugs, she finds it difficult to receive them.

“I won’t tell anybody close to me to go for Big Brother. If you’re not mentally strong, don’t go for Big Brother. After Big Brother, I used to have anxiety. It became worse. I had social anxiety, I can’t go to spaces if I’m alone. I can give you hugs, but I can’t receive hugs", she said.
